Scottish Larder Series: Cockerel Dinner

Our next event in the Scottish Larder Series celebrates cockerel with Linda Dick from Hamildean Farm. 

Our chef patron Fred Berkmiller was very pleasantly surprised when Linda offered him a cockerel several years back. It was the first time he was able to buy a cockerel in Scotland after looking for many years. With a deeper flavour and a stronger texture cockerels are perfect for the type of cooking we do with stocks and sauces to enrich the natural flavours. It's also very sustainable and ethical to be using male birds.

We’re delighted that Linda will be our guest speaker on the night and will give us an insight into the world of poultry farming and what raising chickens full of flavour entails.

After welcome drinks and Linda's talk in the wine bar, we’ll enjoy a superb meal (using cockerel and veg, salad and herbs from Newton Garden) upstairs in blanc. Please note: seating style is communal and it's a set menu.
